CONTRACT OPPORTUNITIES
The Small Business Program works closely with prime contractors during construction of the Bay Bridge’s new East Span to help secure opportunities for small businesses and DVBEs to participate in this historic project. Small businesses and DVBEs have already proven to be invaluable to the seismic retrofit of the Bay Bridge, providing a wide variety of construction, transportation and related services, including embankment construction, roadway excavation and erosion control. During construction, the Small Business Program works directly with prime contractors and Caltrans construction staff to identify contract opportunities for certified small businesses. Based on specific needs, the Program facilitates the identification of certified small businesses and the matching of these businesses with prime contractors.
The Program also provides support for retrofit projects on the Antioch and Dumbarton Bridges.
